In cases where death follows surgical procedure the cause of death would be generally viewed as a complication of the surgical or anaesthetic procedure. Though rare, death can occur due to some unforeseen fatal complications, which will pose a lot of medico-legal implications. The (functional causes) of post-operative colonic obstruction, complicating surgical procedures especially of pelvic organs is very uncommon but can neither predicted nor prevented even by a competent surgeon who exercises reasonable care, skill during pre, per or post operative periods.References

Introduction: In the early phase of life, even with the advent of urbanization and civilization, children are not considered relatively as safe as they are vulnerable now. The advent of civilization and urbanization has failed to put children in safe zone. The infancy or childhood is no longer a protected period and subjected to all kinds of maladies of the society. Even childhood (or) infancy is not free from the vagaries like suicide, homicide, kidnapping, neglect and also the sexual assaults. Death from unnatural causes is a black remark on humanity. Study of all the factors causing death unnaturally will be useful in reducing the incidence.
Materials and Methods: The present study has been conducted on the deaths of paediatric age group (i.e., 0 - 15 years) which are of medico-legal significance. This study is based on the Medico-legal autopsies conducted at Osmania General Hospital, Hyderabad. A total number of 500 cases occurred during the period of this study from July, 2007 to June, 2009.
Conclusion: The incidence of death in paediatric age group was more between 13-15 years, least between 4-6 years age group, maximum deaths were due to accidents (56.20%) followed by suicides (27.80%) and homicides (7.8%). Total 500 death were studied of which (48.4%) were males and (51.6%) were females. Maximum incidence of paediatric deaths was from middle and lower socio-economic groups.

The development of new spindle designs and their corresponding stability studies provide a guiding technology to reduce the production costs. Prediction of frequency response at the tool tip end is of paramount importance in assessing the machining quality at the design stage. In the present work, a realistic spindle tool unit of a vertical CNC milling machine is considered for the analysis and the spindle-housing system is first analyzed using a finite element modelling. Tool and holder are analyzed as independent systems and the coupled spindle-tool frequency responses at the tool-tip are obtained from receptance coupling method. Unlike the conventional receptance coupling methods, in this work all the component receptances are obtained numerically. Further using the tool tip FRF, stability lobes are plotted analytically at different speeds. In order to obtain the machining stability boundaries, a dynamic milling model is developed with two degrees of freedom spindle tool system with rigid work piece by considering the variable pitch effect and permissible runout effect to carry out the same chip load for each cutting edge.Keywords

This paper presents an experimental investigation aimed at identifying and isolating effects of cutting conditions and over hanging length of work piece and over hanging length of tool on cutting forces and vibrations from those arising as a result of cutting tool wear. Machining test cuts were conducted using sharp tool and the effects of cutting conditions (depth of cut, cutting speed and feed rate), tool overhanging length and work piece over hanging length studied. Here experiments were conducted on EN8 steel, EN24 Steel, Mild steel and Aluminium at different cutting parameters and different overhanging lengths. Here chatter starting point length is measured from the free edge of the work piece and graphs were plotted between over hanging length verses cutting forces and chatter starting point length.- Analysis of Regenerative Chatter in Turning

This paper presents effects of various cutting conditions (such as Velocity, Feed, Depth of cut), and tool geometry (such as Side Cutting Edge angle. Inclination angle. Rake angle), overhanging distance of work piece and over hanging distance of tool on regenerative chatter (Self excited vibrations) in turning process. A low mass accelerometer is placed at the tool-tip of the assembly and the system is excited at the same point by using an impulse hammer to obtain the tool-point frequency response function through spectrum analyzer or modal testing software. New test is performed when tool-overhang length changes or for different combination of system components. Regarding the analytical aspects, have to obtain any model of cutting process.This paper also presents mathematical modelling for better understanding the relationship between various cutting conditions, cutting forces and vibrations in turning machines.- Tool Wear Monitoring and Control

This paper presents, a control methodology based on experimental data of the tool wear as a function of cutting variables. In automatic machine tools, there is strong need to control the tool wear by adjustment of the cutting parameters. In this connection, a control system, which can adjust the cutting parameters for a desired wear rate, is necessary. A regression relation is also established between the flank-wear, and the cutting parameters. An inversely trained neural network model, which supplies the modified values of the cutting parameters, is used as a controller.
